What Should Be Your Child’s First
Grappling Art?

The coaching staff at Orange County Judo Training Center has had the distinct pleasure of watching Justin Flores grow from a young junior judo competitor to an international judo athlete and coach. Along the way, he was an All-American High School wrestler who earned a scholarship to the University of Nebraska.
He is the grappling coach for a number of MMA athletes including Ronda Rousey. He is a coach for the USA Judo Tokyo 2020NE Olympic team. He also earned a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
He has a very successful online training program at www.jfloacademy.com Justin is respected worldwide throughout the martial arts community.
We take it seriously, when he is asked to expound on grappling topics. He did a podcast with YouTuber Chadi in June 2021. It picks up from him being asked which is the best martial art for children to start with between: BJJ, Judo, and Wrestling.
We completely agree with his opinion and reasons why judo should be the base for children.
We ‘d like to also mention that Justin is an accomplished artist. You can see stencils of his artwork that we licensed on the walls at Orange County Judo Training Center.
